چکیده

Abstract In the framework of direct Structural Health Monitoring approaches, this paper presents a low frequency range analysis performed on steel truss bridge designed in 1946 and built up Northern Italy. The is instrumented with permanent structural health monitoring system, that guarantees continuous flux data information from heterogeneous set sensors. analysis, static quasistatic responses are considered. These experimental merged analogous outputs obtained numerical simulations, FE models representative actual bridge, purpose identifying damage‐sensitive indexes. Simulations considering healthy structure modelling different damage scenarios. consists construction regressive model able to estimate sensor output starting environmental measurements, primary reduce effect temperature over measured response. This procedure allows relate damages simulated by means real data, so rules can effectively defined.

Bi-directional Seismic Analysis and Design of Bridge Steel Truss Piers Allowing a Controlled Rocking Response

4-legged bridge steel truss piers provide support for gravity, transverse, and longitudinal lateral loads of bridges. Allowing a controlled rocking response for seismic resistance of 4-legged truss piers requires the development of design equations considering ground motions in two horizontal directions and vertical excitation. First, the static kinematic and hysteretic bi-directional behavior ...

Seismic Retrofit of Bridge Steel Truss Pier Anchorage Connections

In assessments of the seismic adequacy of existing steel bridges, the steel-to-concrete anchorage connections typically found at the base of steel truss piers can be potentially vulnerable, having little to no ductility and inadequate strength to resist seismic demands. Many other non-ductile failure locations may also exist along the seismic load path. Failure would result in unacceptable perf...

Structural Health Monitoring Using Peak Of Frequency Response

Methods in detecting damages in structural components and monitoring their health is on the way to develop in today’s technology. Approaches; nondestructive towards the part or with the lowest risk; which locate the damage and even diagnose its size, are accentuating the importance of smart materials. One of these materials are piezoelectric that is used both as transducers and actuators in res...

Displacement monitoring of a Long-Span Arch Railway Bridge using Digital Image Correlation (DIC)

There is an escalating demand for condition monitoring enhancement of transport infrastructures worldwide. Bridges are of vital importance in transportation infrastructure and need such monitoring. In this research, a non-contact vision-based technique called Digital Image Correlation (DIC) was used to calculate the bridge displacements. A high frame rate camera with 4K capability was used for ...
